PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS MADE BY ROY TROLLOPE BETWEEN 1989 AND 1997 are now being shown in this country for the first time.  A fascinating body of work, the images are very different to the Spanish paintings and collages.  They are a series of figurative compositions which have an iconic nature and seem to tell stories by presenting them in a universal visual language accessible to a wide audience.  Figurative elements combine to suggest a narrative, the central figure embodying the meaning in the title.

'Falling' 1995, permanent collection of the Towner, Eastbourne.

The Towner has also acquired 'Touching' 1995 and 'Listening' 1995.
